While the procedure varies according to the purchase option you select, the Amazon on-line buying procedure is is pretty intuitive. You are walked through step by step.

The procedure shown below gives a basic explanation on how Amazon works.  Because of the size of some of the screen shots, use the full screen for your browser.

 
  1. Go to a product on the web page and click on the product title link.

    This would be Quakehold etc.


     

  2. This brings up the product as well as suggested products that are similar to the selected product. You can shop for any products as shown. This listing is called a shopping cart because that's what it is- an on-line version of a number of items you can buy at the same time.

   3. In addition, you can select some other options:

          • Items from the Shop All Departments menu
          • Add to Wish List menu
           
   • Add to Wedding Registry menu
          • Add to Baby Registry menu

   4. For more detail about the selected product, scroll down the page. Its content is self-explanatory.

      

    5. To start the purchase procedure, click the Add to Shopping Cart or Add to Cart button.

    6. In either case, Amazon gives you another opportunity to create a shopping cart.

        
       
        The price of the single item or group of items is displayed. Just like a grocery store, the next step is to
        click the Proceed to Checkout button.

 

    7.  The next step is to validate your status as an Amazon customer. The following screen displays. In this
         case, let us suppose that you are a new customer.

        

         You would enter your email address.

    8.  Then, click the Sign in using our secure server button. A screen displays showing your email address
         with the other fields blank.

          Fill in the fields. If you are a returning customer, the shipping information fields are already filled in.

    9.  The following screen appears.  Fill in the fields.

         (If you are a returning customer the fields are already filled in. )

         

    10. Click the Continue button. The next screen that displays allows you to select your shipping options.
          Select one of the radio buttons.

          

     11. Click the Continue button. Select your payment options. You can pay by credit card, checking account,
           delayed billing, or as a gift card.

     12. Once your payment is verified, the item or items will be shipped to your address.
